These are some o...Doesn't reality just plain suck? These are some of the sobering facts of the human experience. The question is... do we throw the baby out with the bathwater? Or Do we stay focused on ourselves, our motivations and hope that the rest will catch up? If people would just do what I tell them, the world would be just freaking perfect... and I would be queen!

I struggle with these issues and have to constantly remind myself that whatever I do to hopefully make this world a better place is not for the here and now, it is for the future. I have to continually remind myself of what my true motivations are. Being an Atheist, this is where my faith resides. I MUST have faith that whatever I do will have an effect, even if I never get to see it. Seeing the results of my efforts is about me, not the change I'm trying to effect. It's kind of like my pool game. I love the game... I suck at the game... I aim, shoot and hope the little white ball hits the ball for which I was aiming, if it does great, if it actually sinks it into the pocket, it's orgasmic. Seeing results to my actions are gravy on my mashed potatoes... and being an immigrant gravy is an exotic treat :)~

With that said, I believe it is part of the human condition to want to see results. Most of the time we want to be catalists for change, we want to make change happen, we want this world to be better. We want to know that our efforts mean something and we measure our successes because we want to know we are not wasting our time. Because it's too drepressing to think that we bust our culos for naught.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
